Dell E1405 vs Macbook vs Lenovo Z61t

Question:
Dell E1405 vs Macbook vs Lenovo Z61t
The dell e1405 I can get with a C2D 7200 and good options after discount it would be about $850.
The second is the macbook the 1299 option which after disc is $1199, a little less feature than the dell, but a lot thinner and compact, plus OSX.
I'm leaning towards the third the Lenovo z61t, I would configure it to a C2D 1.66ghz, which will be slightly slower than the e1405, and at about $1050, but its 4.5lbs and thin.
What do you guys think? If the e1405 was thinner I would buy it right now. But then again am I dumb for paying $300 more just to lose .4" off thickness (as well as getting slightly less performance 2ghz vs 1.66)?
Thanks!

The Lenovo will have superior build quality, a better keyboard for typing and overall a well-rounded machine. The macbook looks good, but it is a different laptop entirely.
My pick is the Lenovo (for a widescreen choice).
Also check out the HP DV2000t.

The ThinkPad will offer better quality and support which is a good thing if you plan on keeping this awhile.

Re: Dell E1405 vs Macbook vs Lenovo Z61t
Hey for the HP dv2000t, I never understood the thickness...13.15" (L) x 9.33" (W) x 1" (min H)/1.54" (max H)(with 6 cell battery)
Could someone explain that to me it seems like a wide range. I would get the standard battery. Also is the dvdrom modular on that model, because if it is, then that drops around another .5 lb so it would be about 4.7lbs?
Thanks

The extra thickness come from the 12 cell battery. It sticks out from the bottom of the notebook in a downward fashion. So if you get the six cell it will be around 1" thick.

Have you Checked out the Sony SZ. I think you can get it around $1250 and it would be one of the lightest options. Besides being one of the best looking laptops out there, it also giving you the option to use a dedicated GPU, nice for gaming or running Vista Areo, or integrated GPU, when you need battery life.
