advice please
Hi,
I'm looking for a cheap laptop. I just want the best I can get for under $400. I bought a laptop from Walmart that I'd like to compare to 2 BF laptops. I need help comparing them. I'm trying to decide if I should keep the Walmart model or try for one of the BF sales.
The Walmart model:
2.00 GHz Mobile AMD Sempron™ Processor 3300+512MB 333MHz DDR ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M IGP (128MB), 60GB 5400RPM Hard-Drive, 24X DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive $398
The BF Models:
1) Compaq Presario Notebook w/ Turion 64 ML-28, 512MB RAM, 60GB Hard Drive Early Bird Item $399.98
2) HP Core Solo Notebook 15.4", 512 MB Ram, 80GB Hard Drive, DVD and CD BURNERS $379.99
I don't know enough about processors to understand what kind of real-world benefit one has over the other. I'm not a gamer. I use computer for MS Word, Photoshop, and surfing the web.

The Compaq notebook has a AMD Turion 64 processor. Its a pretty good processor, but not dual core. Still it'll do fine in your activities.
The same goes for Intel Core Solo. They will do fine, although they might be a bit slow.
I would pick the HP notebook over the Compaq one.
