1) What is your budget?
SGD 3800
What is this currency
Tell your budget in euros or dollars.
Whatever,17" notebooks aren't portable as well as you want.Maybe you should look something with 15.4" screen like Lenovo T60(X1400 graphic card) or Toshiba Satellite A100-599.I know you've said that you don't like Toshiba(oh,how I hate English gramatic...),but this one is great.

Re: Gaming Laptop for poly(college)
if its a 15-15.4" you want i would say dell insipon e1505 or hp dv6000t
with the fomer having a slightly better gpu capability
but i ant sure about theavailability of dells in singapore but im sure ull find hp though im sure ull find alot of toshibas the a135 is a worthy candidate but as you dont like em......lets leave it
btw any reason for not liking toshibas?(just curious)lol
as youll be carrying it around quite a lot a 15.4" notebook is ur best bet until unless you would be really needing the 17" screen
and is it 2500$ or euros?
cheers,

haha well.....to each his own eh?but guess it jus personal preferance
personally i dont fancyacer that much.....dunno y......anyways
the asus g1 is a great notebook too and yes it would get my vote
and wow does it have a great card
a nvidia geforce 7700 and im sure it will play most games on high setting
and the green flashing lights are cool too lol
there are quite a few g1 owners in the forums and i suggest you check from them on how they feel about their notebooks and also do check for recuring problems if any just to be on the safe side ykno

hmmmm ok... thanks for your help!

Re: Gaming Laptop for poly(college)
you won't get 4h with the g1 though
and imho, i don't really like the flashy style of the G1
going to be embarrassing having that a year later and a crummy looking dell with a 8600 beating its performance.
i'd say get a more conservative, stylish/professional notebook like the f3jp with the x1700 or business version V1Jp
oh, and because these are notebook gpus, the 7700go can almost just match a desktop version of 7600gt
so, you probably won't be able to play all new games at high.
oh, also keep in mind that there is minimal difference between the x1600,x1700,7600go, and the 7700go, though the 7700 (i think) OC better
if gaming is more important then portability, then get a 17 inch and you can get a 7900gtx or 7950gtx or 7900gs which will play most games now on high
if not, then the 7700go is the fastest 15.4 inch notebook gpu there is.
