Re: Gaming Laptop Poll
I think from a purely gaming perspective, the Clevo beats the other two in terms of specs.
Answer:
Re: Gaming Laptop Poll
True but it's also more expensive. I've also never dealt with RJtech or Clevo/Sager Notebooks before so it's new territory on trusting quality of the company and notebook brand.
CNET wasn't too kind to it due to battery life being only 74 minutes on a 12 cell battery according to them. That is pretty bad even though I'll be plugged in most of the time. I would prefer to be able to see a whole movie on battery though.
I won't be buying til after Santa Rosa comes out and the new Geforce Go 8 series so the options could very well change by then. I think I'd rather stick with the 7950 GTX though since it is more powerful than the 8600 I assume (just hope prices fall when 8 series is released).

You cant beat the E1705's performance per dollar. As much as I hate Dell, its simply the best 17" notebook out there, and the most popular by a ways. I would combine it with the Dell coupons to get an even better deal on it.

Re: Gaming Laptop Poll
I agree, the E1705 would be a great gaming notebook. As Vivek mentioned, it's also the cheapest.

Re: Gaming Laptop Poll
It totally depends on what you're after though. All of them will be quite capable in terms of gaming.
The Clevo will give you the best build quality and performance--while the Dell is the best deal in terms of raw power/price ratio.
And as noted, since you intend to wait for DX10 and Centrino Pro--you might as well see what's available at that time. You will not be buying any of these systems unless for some reason one or more of them gets a Centrino Pro refresh.

I'd also go with the clevo M570U. It offers more features for the price.

Re: Gaming Laptop Poll
I have a Clevo D900K and LOVE it! I would not choose any other notebook over this, and from my own laptop and from nearly every review I've read on Clevo notebooks, you cannot beat them. Incredible build quality, top-of-the-line features, everything. I personally purchased my notebook from RJTech and it was very very nice. They even had a shortage on the lower quality LCD displays for my notebook and personally called me to inform me immediately. They even upgraded my purchase to the better LCD screen for free since they were out of the lower quality and would be for a few weeks!
Yes, Clevo is more expensive than other brands like Dell, but you can get better name-brand parts put in them yourself (trust me, I did it and I'm not that experienced. It only takes an hour at MOST). Plus, I actually saved quite a bit of money purchasing the individual parts myself and installing them than if the same company offered the same brand parts due to markup and installation costs. And you will probably get many more added in, more well built features than if you went through another manufacturer.
