Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
You seem well knowledged with other brands such as Sager or Compal as opposed to Dell or Apple, so I think you're good if you order the Sager NP2090 or the Compal IFL-90 for the requirements in your FAQ.
Answer:
Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
I built a Dell 1520 on their website that was similarly configured to a Sager NP2090 I built on powernotebooks.com. The Dell comes out to be about $200 cheaper plus it comes with Vista, the sager does not.
What would the better deal be?
Answer:
Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
I'm pretty sure you can get the Compal at least the same price as the Dell

Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
Which Compal? The IFL-90 was even more expensive than the Sager.
Answer:
Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
The IFL-90 comes with a standard 3 year warranty while the Sager comes with a 1 year warranty standard. If customer service and warranty is a concern for you, then the Sager is a better buy since the Sager resellers have very good service compared to Dell's outsourced support.

Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
Keep in mind it is VERY unlikely that you will get the Sager (massive shipping delays) or Lenovo laptop by 8/20. I just ordered a 15.4" T61 on 7/27 and the target shipping date is 8/29. They tend to be pretty conservative on the shipping dates so I may get it a week before that. You might be able to get the Dell by 8/20 though

Re: Another need a notebook for college thread...
looks exactly my configuration for my np2090 XD. looks good to me. but remember there is a chance that it might not arrive by that time. I ordered on june 21st and i have yet to recieve mine. Also from what I know WXGAs are acually coming in faster than WSXGA but call XoticPC to find hard numbers.
