I recommend the Compal IFL90 for your needs. Get the WSXGA+ version with the 8600mGT, it will have sufficient gaming power for your needs for quite some time. If you like HP, you could also look at their new 8510 line, which won't have quite the gaming power of the Compal, but which will have better build quality.

Re: Portable Gamer for Office & Home w/ Battery Life
I'd also recommend the Compal IFL90. It has the battery life you'll want, the gaming power with the 8600GT GPU and still look professional enough for the office. Its nice because you can order it with the OS you want. Most computers are coming with vista pre-installed.
The other option is to look at the ASUS V1J or wait for the Santa Rosa refit. Its a sharp looking machine and gets good reviews. The current V1J won't have the GPU power as the IFL90 and I don't think it has as good of battery life though and you'll probably only find it with Vista.

If you can wait within the month, the ASUS V1s should be released...or at least I hope so.

why don't you look at the new Apple MacBook Pro?? it comes with a 256 mb nvidia geforce 8600m gt... it's 3d benchmark 06 value is 4674 which is very close to 512 mb of 7900gtx... you can always run Apple Bootcamp and install win xp on the macbook pro... this is only a suggestion

Re: Portable Gamer for Office & Home w/ Battery Life
If you are not going to think about even touching OSX, then ever bother with bootcamp XP. You'll have to deal with a lot of driver problems.
Just wait few more weeks - 1 month for the Compal IFL 90. It has the battery and gaming power.
