Question:
Which one of the following ?
My use for this laptop is for Flight Simulator 2004 and internet usage such as email, instant messenger and certain web applications. They are both in my budget, the fact that one has DVD RW doesnt matter to. My concern lies between the memory and hard drive type and the video card.

Re: Which one of the following ?
I like the Battalion ML-Turbo - it has a faster hard drive interface - Serial ATA has up to 150MB/s versus the 100MB/s for the ATA-100.
Also, the modular graphics are pretty cool. 256MB of memory is sweet! :p
The one has a TV tuner and the other doesn't but, I wouldn't be worried about that - you didn't say anything about wanting to watch TV on your notebook. It's not really a big deal.
So. Battalion ML-Turbo gets my vote!
Have you considered the HP dv4000? That's also a nice notebook, and you can get one spec'd out for that price.

Re: Which one of the following ?
Out of those two I'd go for the G-600.
As I stated before in a different thread of yours, I highly recommend something built and tested by a larger name brand. These custom notebooks usually run too hot/crash and don't seem to have the same testing during design as the larger companies that have a lot of money riding on their notebooks succeeding in the mainstream market. I've gone this direction before, and please take my word for it, and wasn't a pretty way to go.

Check out the sig on Chazman! New toy? What brought this on?
Now back to the topic. I'm shopping around also tanveer and I just check out prices on the dv4000 and after doing the specs it comes to over $1850 delivered. Tax is a killer in Calif. For that price I think the Asus z70va or Acer 8104 should thrown into the ring. Check the specs and reviews and I think you'll be interested.
Figures I post about Chazman's new toy in sig and now its gone. lol

Ha yes new toy. The Admin disabled sigs for a bit - that's why they dissappeared. Now they are back!!! :D
Ha, yeah, the taxes do kill in CA. TravelMate 8103 or 8104 are definitely worth considering! You can get them at ZipZoomFly and Newegg.

So you ordered a Sager? It has nice specs, hopefully it works out for you. Who did you order from? PCTorque, DiscountNotebooks, Direct from Sager? I had mine shipped to a friend's house out of state to avoid CA sales tax on my Sager.

Won't make any practical difference. On a 5400RPM drive especially.

Again, on a 6600 - anything over 128MB is near useless.
