Initial impressions:
I was at my local PCWorld where I purchased the device which was on display but not in stock at that store but was promised delivery to my work place for Tuesday.
As far as I am aware, this is a new model which Toshiba has released, but has loaded on XP Professional as to Windows Vista. A Vista voucher is included but after looking at the express upgrade website, you can only upgrade to the 32bit edition which is a shame as I would of prefered a 64 bit OS.
In terms of price, I believe that this is one of the best branded notebooks on the market at the moment for this specification and the typical £750-£1000 price range after long consideration. The specification is simular to a Apple MacBook Pro but without the style, webcam and a 2.16 GHz C2D CPU. A Apple MacBook Pro was my second choice, but the £1325 price tag put me off compared to the £850 Toshiba. This is where I think Apple should release a cheaper laptop with dedicated graphics.
Review:
To be done by Wednesday 7th February depending on delivery.
