Bluetooth?
I don't even know if my laptop has blue tooth device or not on it. I have this computer, and Acer 5610-4648:
It has a bluetooth switch on the bottom, but when ever I click it over, it says No Bluetooth Device? Does this mean that I have bluetooth and that no devices are in range or that it is just a quick switch in case I get a bluetooth adapter?

It's possible that your Acer model like my 5630-6966 came from the factory with the front Bluetooh switch installed, but with no internal Bluetooth module or drivers installed. I get the same green letters mesage at the bottom of the screen when I press slide the switch to the left. The specs for my machine did not include Bluetooth, so I was not surprised.
I was looking a this $65 Bluetooth module which "appears" to be compatible with the 5600 series of Acer laptops. I wonder if someone here has installed this or a similar internal Bluetooth module and can tell us about their experience. I'm afraid that this module also requires cable(s) that might need to be ordered separately.

a lot of acer machines come with the bluetooth switch even though they dont actually have the hardware present. However, you should be able to get the hardware necessary to install the bluetooth adapor from acer.

If you know of a link to a page in an official Acer site where this Bluetooth Module is available... please post it for us. I looked under products upgrades and accessories in the US and UK sites, but I could not find the Bluetooth Module anywhere. Maybe I miss it.

Does anyone know where I can download "free" copies of the Service Manual and Parts List for the Aspire 5630. I looked around the Acer sites, but I can not find information related to the Bluetooth module or how to install it.

Search ebay for "acer service manual". You can acquire service manuals for most Acers there, for a fairly modest fee. Well worth it if you don't want to break your laptop.

paulgspence, thanks for the link to the 5630 BT module. I had actually searched notebooksolutions and ended up finding a BT module that's supposed to work with the Aspire 5600 series. See link in one of my previous posts above. I thought that was it. The link you posted is "specifically" for the 5630. I think that if I order this module directly from notebooksolutions they will also send me a service manual with my purchase if I request it.
