Question:
New MBP LED display
I was wondering if everyone who owns a new LED MBP to comment on the display, specifically the evenness of the backlighting, and LCD flickering.
I ask because:

I would also love some pics of the screen to compare to:

mine looks very similar to that and im considering upgrading, but I need to get an idea of the new screen first (they wont be in stores here in canada until the 22nd, and there are no apple stores near me for miles.)
thanks.

I do not see what the people in those posts are talking about. As far as I can tell, my LCD is perfect. I have a good eye for color, it's possible they are used to a different color values in OSX, which can easily be adjusted. I know for sure in Vista everything is rock solid and standard whites etc that I am used to seeing in every other LCD out there. Just in this case, MUCH brighter, especially since vista 64-bit video drivers that are out now do not support adjusting the brightness.
You cannot go wrong with the new LED screens, and I garentee that CCFL (cold cathode) is soon to be history. If it is close to time for an upgrade, I would say now is the time to do it because I don't suspect another MBP refresh for another 6 months at least =/

Re: New MBP LED display
it sounds to me like they are blaming hardware for software problems...
i guess that can be true- but "missing items in the finder" just isn't going to be related to having a new macbook pro.
that is a pretty strong sign that they dont know what they are talking about, in my opinion.

It's VERY bright. Brighter than any Thinkpad, Dell Latitude, or Gateway M460, M255 that I deal with at work. Actually it is even brighter than any of my Desktop LCDs that I've had in the past. Most of those were 18" and 19" Dell Ultrasharps.

Been 2 days and still going strong with my display. No probs here. One thing I've noticed about my LED MBP display over my desktop LCD flat panel is the crispness in images. They are really quite sharp.

Well, if its that bright, does it burn your eyes if you use it in perhaps, bedroom with the lights turned off?

Do you have matte or glossy, though? Glossy screens will appear sharper than matt screens, of couse.
Just curious.
