Question:
High pitch sound in Sony Vaio FZ-190
I am frustrated about the high pitch sound from my new vaio notebook. I sent my laptop to Sony for repair. After a week they are telling that the high pitch sound is normal under the design specification of this fz series and it is unresolved. Is anyone else here having the same problem.
Is there any solution to stop the sound. I had a HP dv6000t before that did the same thing, which I returned it back.
**Sony customer care sucks real bad**. They don't know anything about the sony vaio notebooks. Hp is much better regarding this.
I have to pay for shipping I choose to return the faulty notebook. It's crazy.
Help me folks. What can I do? Return my laptop? or wait for sony to resolve the problem?
**HOW COME SOME NEW LAPTOPS WITH CORE 2 DUO DON'T MAKE NOISE?**

Yes, I hear high pitch as well, but it does not make me crazy that much (yeah, admit that I am already used to other nosiy machines, like my old MX7515. :) )

and aren't much different from the post above. Don't blame you for being upset, but you probably should have continued the discussion of your problem in one of the other threads rather than starting yet another with the same theme.
Judging from wnmnkh's post, perhaps Sony is right and maybe you're more sensitive to notebook noises than the average user? If this is a genuine problem I hope you're able to get it sorted out.

No, I think it should not make such high-pitch noise. Other laptops I used such as Fuji T40, unknown model of old sony 10inch one, and MX7515 do not make much high pitch noise like this laptop does.
Honesty, this becomes a bit annoying for me now....

Hmm strange. My FZ160 has no such issues. I do hear the fan come on from time to time but it's pretty quiet and nothing whines. Either they are using a faster / noisier fan in the 190 cuz of higher clock speed or there is truly a problem with it.

It's not the fan noise. I have the same specs too as yours except the hard drive. Mine is 120 GB 5400 rpm. Take ur notebook to quiet room and you can hear it (just below the left side of the keyboard)
