Need help - M9750

Question:
Need help - M9750
Well, I am going to buy the alienware m9750 pretty soon and I'm wondering...
for the processor I can choose between 2.0 and 2.33 with 4mb cache. The 2.33 is more of course, would it be best to get the 2.0 and overclock it to save some money?
for the ram should I get 1gb and upgrade it to 2gb from newegg and also save money?
Now for the video card.. I'm really not quite sure if I should get dual, because as of today a single 7950 card will play any game no problem but I know in the future this won't be so. Should I wait for better graphics cards or get the dual?
Thanks

Re: Need help - M9750
Do what I did...go with the 2.0. The difference in the price from the 2.0 to the 2.33 is UNjustifiable! Just go with 2.0!
You can go with Ram from newegg to save you about 200 bucks, but I didnt just because im financing the machine so I didnt care...
take my advice, go with 1 7950gtx! It will play anything right now full settings and it will play future games too! By the time games start utilizing dx10 chances are you will upgrade and by then you should go SLi dx10 cards.
Which is also why I still dont understand why some people feel like waiting for dx10 cards to come out to order their 9750's...No games use it right now.

Now another question... Is the ram that you get else where easy to put in the laptop on your own? Anybody know? Same with the graphics cards.
I am thinking about getting two of these:
To have 4gb total

Yes, easy as pie. usually just a cover with a few screws on the back of the laptop. Remove and insert, pop cover back on.
They do this intentially so that you can replace the RAM.

Try the RAM DEALS thread - the best deals on RAM can be found in there.

First of all, you can't overclock the CPU (there are no BIOS options like there are on a desktop; only software which can get unreliable). As noted you can't tell the difference anyway; the Core 2 Duo CPU is so powerful.
I'd go with the 2.0GHz CPU and the minimum amount of RAM from Alienware, then upgrade yourself.

Same with the video cards to right? The answer to that is yes without a doubt, but it is more expensive to do this aftermarket and upgrading the video card will void your warranty unless you have Alienware do it.

Well I'm planning to get two direct x 10 cards, but that's not going to be in a year and I want to have no problems getting them into the computer if I buy them.
Think thats all I needed to know, thanks guys.

The price jump for the CPU is Intels fault, the 2GHz will do fine for the price. If youre getting heaps of RAM go for Vista Ultimate, Alienwares price for it aint bad..
