6324w, slight background noise in headphones?

Question:
6324w, slight background noise in headphones?
Not sure if I read someone else hearing a little background noise when plugging in headphones. Its nothing I notice if I play audio in them, but when nothing plays its there, its not loud, but its a bit annoying. I only noticed it last night, havent really been thinking about it since so there is a small possibility it was a one time issue... will check it out the coming few days.
Anyone else noticed this?

I know a lot of devices have a silent shh sound, but this sound seems to be changing tones and going louder and and more quiet again. For example having another pair of headphones plugged into this desktop I'm not hearing any noise, so if its there its too low for my ears to hear it. My mp3-player has a pretty quiet sound but its always constant. Maybe its just me not having listened to enough headphones in portable players. Or maybe I'm just looking for errors in a otherwise close to perfect lappy.

On my laptop with earphones I can't usually hear anything, but with my good headphones I can hear a weird buzzing sort of noise, so if I'm not listening to music I either turn the Wave volume high and the master volume low, or just completely mute it.

It's a rather loud (even if speaker volume turned down) alternating high pitch and medium pitch tone every 2 seconds or so. It's rather annoying and means I can't use headphones unless there is noise (e.g. music) to drown out the tone.
Can anyone from Zepto say whether all their laptops make this noise?

I have the same problem with my 6224W. Very annoying.
The laptop speakers are bad quality too (only mine maybe ?) Some frequency ranges make them saturate very easily (not twenty percent of the available volume). I tried to listen with a single speaker at a time and the problem was less noticeable. I reckon there is some kind of resonance on the screen body that makes the result worse with both activated.
Very disappointed in the sound system. Any clue to improve anything ? Thx

Is it like a high pitch electrical static noise?

Is it like a high pitch electrical static noise? No it's not static (hissing) which is reasonably easy to cope with. It's a very annoying alternating tone.
Anyhow, I have discovered it's some sort of interference from the USB port next to the headphone jack. I solved it by putting my USB mouse in the USB port at the back of the machine. Silence again. Bliss!

Why are australia getting a much lower spec? Go 7600, 1gb ram, 1280*800 screen, and this was dated 2 weeks ago.
