On Windows or Mac OS X? Considering it only has integrated Intel GMA950 graphics, there's probably not many 3D games you can play. Might want to give us some information on what kind of games you were thinking of playing.

Umm I have seen multiple people post videos of Half Life 2 running fine on it. Use Boot Camp to unstall Windows XP, with windows XP the integrated graphics can go up to 224megs I believe it is, if you have enough ram that it. Half Life 2 with the 2 GHZ version and 2 gigs of ram runs absolutly fine, Doom 3 is laggy at high resolutions, but trust me, with 2 gigs of ram youll be fine, although you wont get any kind of future gaming out of it but most or all of current gen should be fine.

i was talking to a mac rep. they said they were playing WoW pretty well (it had 2gb @ 667 though) and that is also after asking him if macs can handle any sort of game so it may be a little biased. i am also unfamiliar with how demanding WoW is also. but thats my 2 cents.

Re: Any games for Macbook
WoW is probably the least demanding popular modern game in existance (Modern is like last year or so). I got it too run fine on a 6 year old PC that wasn't even that nice when I bought it, integrated gpu and everything. You would be hard pressed to buy a new PC that couldn't run wow on low or maybe even medium. That said, integrated graphics are never a good idea for gaming, WoW looks so much prettier on a good gpu with good ram.
Also I don't know anything about macs, but I assume a duck is a duck and a integrated chip is the same.

I dont really want to do much gaming as im getting a Desktop PC later in the year but the occasional game would be good. The laptop i have now (Acer Travelmate 270) runs half life 2 on low settings great, even with intergrated graphics and 512mb ram, so i beleive i will be able to play it on a Macbook

Re: Any games for Macbook
Macs arent for gaming. Hopefully some of these companies start making some games mac compatable, but I doubt that will happen. As for running it with boot camp on windows, I would think a game would work if it had terrible graphics. Windows isnt exactly integrated top notch into the macs hardware yet. Boot Camp is a beta.

Re: Any games for Macbook
There are some ports of more modern games for Macs, but a lot of those will require higher end graphics, so you might not have much luck (i.e. you wouldn't have any luck running the OS X versions of Quake 4 or Call of Duty 2, for example). As others have said, with BootCamp you can probably play some stuff like WoW (I'm not sure how well WoW for OS X runs on a MacBook, but you could try it) and HL2, etc. at lower detail settings.
For Mac-specfic stuff, and with the limitations you're dealing with on the MacBook, I might also recommend taking a look at some of the games put out by companies like Freeverse (http://www.freeverse.com) and Ambrosia Software (http://www.ambrosiasw.com). These companies specialize in 2D arcade-style games (and Freeverse also does a lot of puzzle and card games), but with very high production values and I personally get a lot of enjoyment out of them.

Download MAME (MacMAME for OSX and MAME32 for Windows) and you'll have more arcade classics than you can manage.
