DirectX 10 and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256 MB memory

Question:
DirectX 10 and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256 MB memory
I'm thinking about buying HP nx8420 laptop (the replacement laptop of HP nx8220) when it will be relased, but I'm wondering if it's graphics card - which will be the ATI Mobilty Radeon X1600 with 256MB of dedicated video memory - will be capable of playing games that require DirectX 10?
I know that DirectX 10 hasn't been released yet and will propably not be available on Windows XP but just on Windows Vista.

it will not be capable of playing games that REQUIRE DX10 but no games are going to require this for years and years to come but you'll only be able to play in DX9 mode

the x1600 will not be able to display the effects of Dx10, but it will run Dx10 games, just without the eye candy.

--DirectX 10 - it will be some time before this comes to notebooks. Probably next spring/summer at the earliest. No cards currently on the market are compatible with it, and they cannot be upgraded in any way to support it. Please read the stickied guides first.

If you don't support DirectX 10, there will be no way to play them right now.
