Centrino Wireless Cards Update

Question:
Centrino Wireless Cards Update
Abaxter posted this on the first page:
Attention Centrino Laptop Owners: Intel Pro Wireless Cards Software Update
If you have a "Centrino" laptop pay attention. Intel recently made available updated software and drivers for three ProWireless card models: 2200BG, 2915ABG and 3945ABG. These updated drivers and management software were released on January 19, 2006. Many new notebooks come configured with old drivers and management software that dates back to October 2004. This new version of updates is Version 10.1.0.3, this download is highly recommended if you have wireless issues and just for generally better performance. You can get your copy of the software direct from Intel here. Just like to share that with you guys incase some missed it, or for future reference.

Makes me wish i had a higher version of the Intel cards. Im on the 2100, (b) and for some reason it feels faster than my Linksys G card. Doesn't matter though, new laptop will have what i want. :)

Like hell am I gonna install it. I'm not gonna risk losing Fn+F5 again. :D
Then again, I don't have issues with wireless. ;)
Thanks for the info, Nick. :)

Re: Centrino Wireless Cards Update
I wonder if this fixes the "problems" of the Intel cards. Mine is waiting to be destroyed by me for fun, so it won't be seeing the new drivers, since my Atheros has taken it's place. :D
Hope it fixes all of your problems Intel people :)

Re: Centrino Wireless Cards Update
Mike, do you have the opportunity to exchange your Intel card with someone who has also the same model? My brother used to have the same card like I did. I was in a similar situation like you and cards were the same manufacturer, name, chip, only serial number was different and the date of manufacturing. My card didn't work well even on the same barebone that my friend has. But my brother's card worked great in my comp. And now the best thing: MY OLD CARD WORKS GREAT in his Prestigio 13"! Not a single issue for months! Now try to explain that! I did a post about that and Nick said that even firmware or whatever makes them work or not. Well I saved some money this way.
On the other hand. I also like smashing not working devices.:)
Cheers,
