Question:
Is this real, or was I dreaming?
I swear I have seen a device before that is capable of connecting most types of USB devices to a network. It was by either Linksys or D-Link. What I really want is a box that I can use to connect USB Disk Drives and Printers for my Dorm, so I don't have to be there for my room mate to use them and vice versa. I would rather not have another computer in here, so am I stuck with two devices? Right now I have a wireless network and the router (DI-624) can connect up to two more network devices. I would prefer D-Link, then Linksys, they have good reps. What do people reccomend.

I have a $100 dell copoun and am gonna get this router from DELL, they sell it for $20 more, you might need a usb hub with it to connect more devices.
Or I've seen some usb to ethernet type adapter that I might try and see if it'll work, not sure about it if it's gonna work though to connect external hard drives, but I might try that.
But, when I browse my desktop from my laptop through wireless network, for some reason it slows down and Windows browser stops responding sometimes so I'm not sure I can live with that.

I think the Linksys is for files, not both...but I can't find anything better either. The bottom are probably for computers with no network card/available port.

The second costumer review in newegg is saying he/she is able to conenct a printer and 3 hd's through a usb hub though.

I like the idea but am tooo cheap to purchase a usb enclosure $30 and a usb networking $99. I just use this really old 333 mhz computer stored in closet with a ide pci controller card (ata100) with all my old drives attached. This solved my problems. In the future I have plans to get a USB 2.0 card for it.
